Start a new tradition and think differently about the day after Thanksgiving! Join us for the 2nd Annual Green Friday Lower Salt River Cleanup on Friday, November 23rd from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sign-in: 7:30-8:00 a.m. | Safety Briefing: 8 a.m. | Cleanup starts: after safety briefing

What to bring: please bring a pair of work gloves to protect your hands. You are welcome to trash grabbers and buckets if you have them. If you don’t have gloves, we will have some that you can borrow. We will provide trash bags.

What to wear: Check the forecast & dress accordingly. Please wear clothing and shoes that can get dirty, possibly muddy. Wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt, thick-sole & closed toe sturdy shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Tonto Recreation Pass: You do NOT need one to participate in the event!

Water: Please help us reduce our use of single-use plastics and bring a refillable water bottle or hydration backpack. We will have water coolers full of water for you to refill your bottles and hydration backpacks. We can increase our impact by making a conscious effort not to use single-use plastic water bottles!

Snacks: We will have snacks for volunteers. If you have any dietary restrictions, you may want to bring your own snack.

Bathrooms: There are vault toilets open to the public.

Youth Volunteers: This is a great opportunity for youth! Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied & supervised by an adult or group leader. Clubs and Groups welcome! We can accommodate large and small groups. Contact Nicole at contact@naturalrestorations.org if you are a group leader and need our liability waiver to get parent permission ahead of time.

Directions: We will likely stage at Pebble Beach Recreation Area, but we want to ensure we can make the biggest impact possible on the river and will determine the exact location we are meeting as we get closer to November 23 rd. We will provide updated directions and parking information to everyone registered as well as on our website and social media pages.

About Natural Restorations

Location:

67 S. Higley Road, STE 103-118, Gilbert, AZ 85296, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to remove trash, graffiti from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas, revitalize natural areas through replanting projects, and enrich the lives of military veterans and other community members.

Description

We remove trash, graffiti and anything foreign to the environment from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas throughout the state of Arizona. We replant burn scar areas by salvaging cacti that would otherwise be destroyed on construction sites and we transport them to burn scars where our team replants them. We provide contract work to Military Veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team and host volunteer events for the community, including youth volunteers.

We have a passion for nature and we believe outdoor restorations and education ensures everyone will be able to enjoy outdoor recreation and wilderness areas. We approach every project with a commitment to long-term change and making lasting impacts in communities across the state.

We have removed over 1.5 million pounds of trash (791+ tons), planted over 53,500 trees, plants & cacti, and removed over 42,451 square feet of graffiti. We have provided over 17,400 hours of contract work to military veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team. We have hosted over 107 volunteer events and completed over 141 restoration projects with our Dedicated Restoration Team.
