Volunteer Chair
Identifies and secures all event volunteer needs
Responsible To: Center for Independent Living
Staff Lead: Ileah Vazquez
Length of Commitment: 7 months (August 2018 to March 2019)
Event Goal: $25,000
Responsibilities:
- Work with staff and committee members to compile a list for volunteer prospects
- Recruits volunteers for the event for set up, event needs, ASL interpreting, and break down
- Works with Volunteer Coordinator to place volunteers in appropriate positions
- Greets volunteers and provides instructions the day of the event on March 9 , 2019
- Follows up with post walk thank you letters to volunteers
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of community for recruitment of volunteers
- Organized, able to manage and delegate
- Detail oriented with good follow-through
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- The desire to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities by being a part of a passionate and energetic planning committee!
Time Requirement:
- 3 - 4 Hours per month on average
- Monthly one-hour meetings with committee
Impact:
- Provide an opportunity for individuals to contribute their unique talents and skills while fulfilling the event tasks
- Make a positive impact in the lives of those with disabilities
- Network with high-impact community leaders
- Develop and enhance current leadership and management skills
