ORGANIZATION: Center for Independent Living in Central Florida, Inc

9 th Annual Stroll 'n’ Roll Committee

Are you looking to share your skills and positively influence others to make a difference in your community? The Center for Independent Living is looking for volunteers with excellent leadership, management, motivation, negotiation, and communication skills to join our 9 th Annual Stroll 'n’ Roll Committee. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 9 th, 2019 at Cranes Roost Park in Uptown Altamonte.


Time Commitment

  • August 2018 - March 2019
  • Monthly 1 hour face-to-face/phone meetings between staff partner and Committee Members
  • Additional time managing and coaching committee members/activities and projects and attending Stroll 'n’ Roll related events

Impact

  • Make a positive impact in the lives of those with disabilities
  • Network with high-impact community leaders
  • Develop and enhance current leadership and management skills
  • Gain valuable experience to enhance personal and career growth

Event Committee Chair

  • Be a driving force in the success of the event
  • The Chair(s) leads every step of the way, helping to recruit committee
  • Monitors the progress of subcommittees to ensure the Stroll N’ Roll is progressing as planned
  • Facilitates all committee meetings in collaboration with development staff members

Sponsorship Chair

  • Help raise the critical funds to support the programs necessary to accomplish that goal of equality
  • Build a list of sponsor and vendor prospects with CIL staff
  • Leads introductions and meetings with potential sponsors and vendors with CIL staff

Team Recruitment Chair

  • Provide the opportunity for participants to help support the programs necessary to accomplish that goal of equality
  • Works to identify, recruit, and cultivate team participation in the Stroll N’ Roll
  • Serves as mentors to Team Captains by providing tools, information, and resources needed to maximize team recruitment efforts and fundraising potential

Volunteer Chair

  • Provide the opportunity for individuals to contribute their unique talents and skills while fulfilling the event tasks
  • Recruits volunteers for the event for set up, ASL interpreting, and break down
  • Works with Volunteer Coordinator to place volunteers in appropriate positions and greet day of the event

Entertainment Chair

  • Bring the fun and amusement element to all event attendee
  • Coordinates the Kidz Zone attractions and activities
  • Promotes the family friendly aspect of the event

Food and Beverage Chair

  • Bring the boost of energy and nutrition to our dedicated participants and volunteers
  • Connects CIL staff with potential food, drink, and local businesses to host vendor booths

Logistics Chair

  • Make the event run smoothly and provide a positive experience for all attendees
  • Work with all other event committee members to determine event logistical needs
  • Help to map out all logistical and event site planning

Marketing Chair

  • Responsible for creating awareness and maximizing exposure
  • Coordinate the delivery of collateral materials to distribution points and maintain relationships with lead contacts to ensure adequate supply
  • Help identify opportunities to expand outreach into diverse community
