Organization Overview:

OneOC is a nonprofit organization in Santa Ana whose mission is accelerating nonprofit success. With volunteer, training, consulting and business services, we help other Orange County nonprofits become as effective and efficient as they are passionate about their missions, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Through hands-on experience, interns will learn the role of Marketing & Communication. They will be capable of expanding upon the theory and concepts taught in marketing and communication courses, and gain exposure to basic PR processes. Interns will obtain skills that will augment future course work. Marketing interns will be able to exhibit their knowledge of fundamental and technical concepts in this area.

Internship Activities & Assignments:

The Marketing & Social Media Intern is responsible for assisting in the marketing functions of the entire organization.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

At the direction of the Marketing & Communications Specialist, the Marketing & Social Media intern will help with or lead the efforts in the areas of public relations, media relations, web and social media; and performs other related work as assigned.

Skills/Aptitudes Desired:

• Intermediate knowledge of design principles and techniques.
• Strong research, writing, and verbal communications skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, handling multiple projects.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign a plus.

• Bachelor’s Degree (in-progress), preferably in marketing, communications, graphic design, or journalism.
• In-depth working knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Must be able to intern for at least 2 days a week
