ORGANIZATION: OSD (We Are OSD)

OSD is a global, chapter-based, Veteran Service Organization providing relevant, relatable, and sustainable impact to the military community through social, professional, and service-oriented programs.

An OSD chapter provides a foundation in a local community through one or more of OSD’s 3 Pillars: Social Connection, Professional Development, and Servant Leadership. Chapters are made up of groups of active duty members, veterans, family members and civilian supporters devoted to giving back at the community level. Chapter are semi-autonomous all working independently, as well as in conjunction with each other in support of the worldwide OSD mission of supporting veterans. Chapters are self-reliant and come up with interesting and beneficial events that engage their chapter members, local veterans, local civilian supporters, and their local community as a whole. Chapters work closely with local businesses, organizations, and companies to help ensure the continued growth and sustainability of OSD. Chapters also create active and engaged communities online through social media. Each Chapter is different, made up and directed by individuals, but supported by the resources and leadership of the OSD national office. This ensures that each chapter aligns with 'The OSD Way.’ An OSD chapter is driven to gather and make an impact with events either by veterans, for veterans, or with veterans.

The OSD Special Gifts Coordinator works closely with OSD National Leadership to identify and cultivate organizations and individuals who have an interest in making a special gift to OSD. The OSD Special Gifts Coordinator understands and can articulate the value of OSD to the community and actively seeks to build relationships with those who might have an interest in partnering with OSD. They will think creatively about ways to network with new and prospective OSD supporters.

If you are outgoing in nature and have a passion for building relationships, this role is for you. The Special Gifts Coordinator will actively seek to grow the presence of OSD in their community with support and guidance from their local Chapter and OSD National.

Most importantly, our Special Gifts Coordinator will uphold the OSD values including:

  1. Accountability - We do what we say and do the right thing all the time.
  2. Action - Our actions are what drive our impact.
  3. Seeking Knowledge - We are always learning, bettering our community and ourselves.
  4. Community Focused - We see the need and meet the need.
  5. Leadership - We build, reinforce and cultivate the veteran support ecosystem.
  6. Fellowship - We nourish lifetime relationships through fellowship emphasizing fun.

With your help, OSD will touch the hearts and minds of countless veterans, service members, and civilians who will forge lasting friendships for years to come.
