We manage a large community event every year at Petco Park. This STEM event is free and is geared towards PreK through 12th grade students in the county of San Diego. We have around 130 exhibitors, tons of hands on activities, performances and more. This is Biocom’s community outreach event. Last year there were almost 26,000 attendees. Because it is outreach work and because there are so many hands on activities for kids, we are in need of volunteers. Our event couldn’t run without them. It is such an amazing event and we have volunteers returning every year because they love it so much. Unfortunately we still need help. The Biocom Institute increases employment opportunities and helps workers retain jobs. Our vision is to create a diverse community of life science professionals actively sharing knowledge as engaged citizens and contributing to the success of our industry. We were established to be the voice of educators, participants and hiring managers in the life science industry. In addition to producing talent and career reports, we engage with Biocom’s member base, allowing corporate social responsibility and community outreach initiatives to reach the life science community. The Biocom Institute helps to ensure a prosperous and productive future for the life sciences industry.
