The City of Roswell has received an AmeriCorps grant to support nonprofit partner STAR House Foundation in enhancing after school programming at select local schools. To accomplish this goal, the City is recruiting AmeriCorps members to serve as tutors alongside on-site coaches and site directors, providing additional instruction and homework support to participating students, with an emphasis on literacy instruction. Personal protective equipment, or PPE, is expected to be required consistent with school and/or partner mandates. Training will be provided in virtual tutoring should it become necessary and a viable option.
