Help the Marketing Team for Summerfest 2019

Summerfest International Art and Folk Festival is searching for a new marketing committee member. Summerfest is currently preparing for its 32nd year. This wonderful community event is made possible by our board, staff and wonderful volunteers. BDAC’s Summerfest Committee is comprised of volunteers who use their unique knowledge and skills to help run this event.

Commitment

Attend monthly meetings. Usually, first Tuesday of each month. Attend weekly meetings leading up to the festival. Attend the festival Friday, June 28, 2019 and Saturday, June 29, 2019. Write a post-event review of the festival and attend the Post-Event Party.

A commitment of 2 festivals is desired. Outgoing committee members move into an advisory position as consultants for a year after their second year. Shorter terms may be considered for special accommodations such as school or internships.

Responsibilities

The Marketing Committee Member is responsible to aid and oversee the following.

1. Assist in the placement of signs and banners
   1. Distribute information and posters about Summerfest to local businesses
      1. Track locations of all approved poster and banner placement for the following years.
   2. Recruit volunteers to help with placing and distributing Summerfest information.
   3. Help pick up promotional materials from donors, sponsors, and event affiliates and ensure they are displayed during the festival.
2. Locate and Identify potential marquees that can be used during the week of Summerfest by local schools and businesses.
   1. Working with or on the behalf of the BDAC Marketing Team.
      1. Reach out to businesses to see if the use of their marquees is possible.
      2. CC marketing staff on communications with community members.

• Under the direction of Marketing Team schedule marquee boards.

1. Work with the Summerfest Coordinator if donations qualify for tax exemptions
   1. Provided Donation Acknowledgment Letters to qualifying individuals or businesses
   2. Assist with writing thank you cards for business, community organizations, and individuals that directly helped support Summerfest.
2. Assist the BDAC Marketing Team with various tasks. (The below task are examples and will yet be determined)
   1. Under the direction of BDAC Marketing Team promote event on social media before, during, and after Summerfest.
   2. Take photos at Summerfest events for marketing purposes.
   3. Assist in finishing name badges and other marketing materials.
   4. Transport and assist in making edits to any marketing materials before and during Summerfest.
   5. Help run marketing promotions (i.e. gift cards, giveaways, etc.) at Summerfest.
