Our thrift store receives lots of donations and needs help researching high-end and unique items.

This is a backroom/office position and requires a lot of curiosity and comfort in looking things up on the computer.

  • Research a wide variety of high-end and unique items on the internet
  • Assist the area manager in setting price points for items
  • Prepare items for the sales floor
PLEASE NOTE: This is a scheduled ongoing position and the ideal volunteer would come in for a few hours once or twice a week.

Description

Every year, over 300 at-risk youth enroll in Holy Family Ministries' K-8 school, pre-school, after-school program, and summer enrichment program. Students live in Chicago's most challenged communities and enter Holy Family with a wide range of abilities. Yet, by the time they graduate 8th grade, they are accepted into college-prep high schools across Chicagoland.

Holy Family's resale store, Lucille, will generate new revenue for its youth programs. Proceeds will enable Holy Family to grow its programming and continue to offer its families an affordable tuition based on income. Approximately 75% of the cost of education at Holy Family comes from the support of generous donors and all programs are offered "first-come, first-served" without regard to religion, race, previous academic achievement, or ethnicity.
