If you’re a detail-oriented individual who loves to think critically to aid in the logistics of events and functions, then this is for you!
We are seeking individuals who would like to volunteer to assist with the logistics planning for our upcoming community fundraising event in 2020 benefiting the American Cancer Society. The event brings together hundreds of people who have been affected by cancer, and the event logistics volunteers help to ensure the event meets and exceeds the expectations of all those involved who attend the event.
Volunteers can contribute by working together to:
- Work with event venue to coordinate needed services
- Communicate with other event planning volunteers to determine logistic needs
- Ensure all needed items and resources are prepared and brought to the event venue
- Help manage day of event volunteer activities and tasks
- Oversee vendors to ensure compliance with event and venue rules and regulations

Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature event with over 5,200 Relays nationwide. Funds raised from Relay support the American Cancer Society's mission of creating more birthdays through advocacy, research, education and patient & family services.
Description
Relay For Life offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event. Teams of people from all walks of life have fun while raising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.
Relay for Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to:
- Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.
- Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.
- Fight Back. We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease.
