We are looking for committed volunteers for our Citizen Science program!
Our Citizen Science program emphasizes the integral role citizens can play in science, and the importance of advocating for our waterways. Citizen Science program volunteers will become familiar with water quality testing parameters, protocols and help lead groups of students through different tests of the Gowanus Canal. Programming will take place on select Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the fall (October-December), usually in late morning or early afternoon.
This is perfect for volunteers that are interested or have prior experience in education.

Description
Gowanus Canal Conservancy is dedicated to facilitating the development of a resilient, vibrant, open space network centered on the Gowanus Canal through activating and empowering community stewardship of the Gowanus Watershed. Since 2006, we have served as the environmental steward for the neighborhood through leading grassroots volunteer projects; educating students on environmental issues; and working with agencies, elected officials, and the community to advocate for, build, and maintain innovative green infrastructure around the Gowanus Canal.
