We are looking for a male volunteer, couple, or family to mentor a 19-year-old male refugee youth from Eritrea. His mother was murdered when he was a young boy, and his father was in a dispute with another Eritrean family, which led to the youth's family farm being burned down. The youth then left his family to seek a better life in Ethiopia, but he was captured by Ethiopian soldiers and brought to a refugee camp there.

This youth has been in the U.S. since late 2014 and he recently moved out of his foster home in Allegan to an independent living placement on the SE side of Grand Rapids. He ran on his high school’s track team (graduated this past year) and enjoys being around others.
