In-Kind Donations Coordinator Committee Member

Summerfest International Art and Folk Festival is searching for a new in-kind donations committee member. Summerfest is currently preparing for its 32nd year. This wonderful community event is made possible by our board, staff and wonderful volunteers. BDAC’s Summerfest Committee is comprised of volunteers who use their unique knowledge and skills to help run this event.

Commitment

Attend monthly meetings. Usually, first Tuesday of each month. Attend weekly meetings leading up to the festival. Attend the festival Friday, June 28, 2019 and Saturday, June 29, 2019. Write a post event review of the festival and attend the Post Event Party.

A commitment of 2 festivals is desired. Outgoing committee members move into an advisory position as consultants for a year after their second year. Shorter terms may be considered for special accommodations such as school or internships


Responsibilities

The In-Kind Donations Committee Member is responsible to aid and oversee the following.

  1. Responsible acquisition of all in-kind donations
    1. Including the tracking of all donations and the value of those donated items.
    2. Identifying new resources for BDAC
  1. Development of new in-kind resources located in Davis County new resources must meet the need of BDSI.
    1. Further the presence of Summerfest by acquiring passes and gift cards of businesses located in Davis County to be used by volunteers who host international guests.
  1. Work with other committee members to help develop resources that can be used during Summerfest for different committee members
  2. Responsible to obtain donation promise to deliver letters from in-kind donors who wish to receive acknowledgement before the festival.
  3. Help Prepare Donation Acknowledgement Letters
  1. Use BDAC’s template to complete letters once donations have been received
  2. Help write thank you cards for each In-Kind Donor
  1. Follow best practices set in place by BDAC and the BDSI Committee
