ORGANIZATION: The Nature Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo

Make a difference in your community with fun opportunities to give back on this very special Thanksgiving Day event.

All proceeds will benefit the environmental educational programming and habitat management of The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo.

Please note that all volunteers under the age of 18 will require a parent's consent on their liability waivers. Volunteers must be a minimum of 13 years old to volunteer. Those who are between the ages of 13 and 15 years old must be accompanied by a guardian during the time of their shift. Volunteers who are 16 to 17 years old do not need a guardian, but will still require a guardian’s consent on their liability waiver. All participants and volunteers, regardless of age, must sign a liability waiver prior to their shift.

All volunteers must arrive by 5:00AM if you volunteer on the day of the run, and will be able to leave after their stations have been cleaned up.

Course Monitor

Help with keeping runners on the course the day of the event.

Day-Of Registration

Assist runners with the day-of registration, packet pickup, and bib distributions.

Hydration Station

Provide waters to runners along the course.

Snack Station

Provide snacks to runners after they’re done running.

Parking Attendants

Assist runners with basic parking and traffic direction.

Traffic Flaggers

Guide traffic appropriately to avoid vehicle interference with the event.

Set-Up/Tear-Down

Helping staff and volunteers with initial set-up and tear-down of the event.

Medal Distribution

Distribute medals at the end of the run to all participants and keep watch over medal supply.

Photographers

Take photos of the event throughout the course.

Bike Marshalls

Lead the way for the course and assist runners with staying on the designated course.

Turkey Mascots

Interact with on-lookers and participants throughout the duration of the event. Cheer on runners going across the finish line. Pose for pictures. Be a part of the photos for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place runners.

Description

The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo-is a growing habitat reserve located on historic Rancho Mission Viejo-is managed by the non-profit Rancho Mission Viejo Land Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is "to preserve and enhance Reserve lands for ecological, educational, charitable, conservation, open space, scientific, and recreational uses." Through our public access and education programs, visitors can experience the natural beauty of South Orange County.
