If you enjoy driving, want to help out in your community and have a few hours most weekends? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Community Blood Center in Topeka needs volunteers with a good driving record and about 2.5 hours of free time most Saturday or Sunday afternoons each month. Volunteer Drivers pick up boxed blood donations from our Topeka center at approx. 3:30pm and deliver them to our main office near Kansas CIty's Country Club Plaza where they can then be prepared for distribution to critically ill patients before returning the vehicle to the CBC in Topeka. Shifts take about 2.5 hours.

We provide the vehicle, training, fuel and candy bars -- you bring the time and dedication to saving lives! To become a Volunteer Driver, you must be 21 years of age, be able to lift 35 lbs, pass a background check /Motor Vehicle Record screening, attend an interview, orientation & ride-along and be ready to help save lives. Kansas residents need a standard driver's license. Missouri residents need a Class E license(we will reimburse after 6 months of service).

Looking for volunteers who can make a commitment of most Saturdays and/or Sundays over at least 6 months of service. Couple/family/friends can drive as teams of 2 but both need to complete orientation.
