Community Blood Center

Steer yourself towards an easy, fun weekend volunteer opportunity! If you have a good driving record and have about 2-3 hours of free time a few Saturday or Sunday afternoons each month, we could use your help.

Community Blood Center is looking for a few dedicated volunteers to pick up blood donations from our St Joe and Topeka centers at approx. 3pm and deliver them to our main office near the Plaza where they can then be prepared for distribution to critically ill patients. Shifts take about 2.5 hours. We provide the vehicle, training, fuel and fun -- you bring the time and dedication to saving lives!

To become a Volunteer Driver, you must be 21 years of age, be able to lift 35 lbs, pass a background check /Motor Vehicle Record screening, attend orientation & ride-along and be ready to help save lives. Kansas residents need a standard driver's license. Missouri residents need a Class E license(we will reimburse after 6 months of service). At least 1 volunteer shift/month, with a minimum commitment of 6 months of service are required. Couple/family/friends can drive as teams but both need to complete orientation.

To learn more, contact Volunteer Services at (816) 968-4079 or vol@cbckc.org

NOTE: At this time, CBC does not provide court appointed community service hours
