Volunteers in this program love the meaningful connections they are able to create with the families they serve, and knowing they are able to provide family members a break from taking care of their homebound loved one.
The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program is seeking volunteers to join our Volunteer Caregiver Respite program. Volunteers provide one-on-one companionship a couple hours a week. Visits last about 2 hours and provide much needed companionship to socially isolated seniors, and offer relief to their primary caretakers. Volunteers do not provide any direct care (bathing, toileting, etc.)Opportunities available in your area: Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, Manchester, Milan, Saline & Ypsilanti.
