Join Tucson Audubon staff in installing a large pollinator garden and 10 new Arizona Walnut trees at a vineyard at the mouth of Corral Canyon in the Patagonia. The site is about 1.5 hrs from Tucson on the eastern edge of the Patagonia Mountains. We may even have the opportunity to do a bit of work on the stream that will connect to the large pond we created there for native fish this past summer. We'll be installing milkweeds for monarch and queen butterflies, a variety of other butterfly-specific larval plants as well as nectar producing plants that attract a wide variety of butterflies. Have no fear, though, we won't be ignoring hummingbirds and other feathered pollinators - we'll have plenty of plants for them too. And, not to be forgotten, we'll be installing 10 walnut trees which host some of the favorite bug-snacks for trogons and cuckoos!

Mission Statement
Tucson Audubon promotes the protection and stewardship of southeast Arizona’s biological diversity through the study and enjoyment of birds and the places they live.
Description
We work for a future in which the people of southeast Arizona are connected to their natural world through birds, and they protect and use our natural resources in a responsible and sustainable manner.
Founded in 1949, Tucson Audubon is southeast Arizona's leading non-profit engaging people in the conservation of birds and their habitats. We involve people through recreational birding, extend their horizons through education activities, and engage them in conservation actions from planting trees and counting birds, to working with local, state, and national policy makers. We are a Founding Member of the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection.
