** Certain volunteer spots are labeled 18+. You must be at least 18 years old to register for these spots. Youth volunteers (8 and up) are welcome to register for the "All ages" openings. **

Distribution: Help check-in attendees, deliver baskets to the front line, and distribute baskets to recipients (all distribution occurs on-site at GCC, volunteers do not need to make deliveries). Volunteers will be working both inside and outside, and layered warm weather wear (hats, coats, and gloves) are recommended. Volunteers will be lifting and carrying heavy bags of groceries, as well as standing and walking through the whole shift. Ages 8+ (must volunteer with an adult).

Special Distribution/Alternative Check in: Help take in curbside donations and address any special registration issues (such as, but not limited to; name not found on list, lost distribution appointment information, late registrations/wait list). Volunteers will be working outside, layered warm weather wear is recommended. Ages 18+

Traffic Coordinator: Help direct attendee traffic through our distribution line. Volunteers will be working outside, layered warm weather wear is recommended. Ages 16+

Clean-up & Food Pantry Stocking: After the last basket has been handed out, there's still plenty to do! Help us quickly clean up the gym, stock our food pantry with any leftovers, and get both spaces ready to resume normal programming. Ages 18+

Turkey Only Distribution: Every year we continue to provide turkeys to any community member who needs one after the full basket items have been given out to all registered families. Turkeys provided on a first come, first served basis throughout the final days leading up to Thanksgiving. Ages 16+

When signing up for a shift, please ensure you are available for the entire time. Due to the extremely large number of volunteers we work with to make Thanksgiving Baskets a success, shifts may not be shortened or split.

Groups: Volunteer are groups are welcome! Groups are limited to 15 spots for any one shift for these roles, but you are welcome to sign up for multiple days/times if more members would like to help.

Youth: Many youth volunteer to help with Thanksgiving Baskets. Youth must be accompanied by an appropriate number of adults and be supervised at all times. Youth must be old enough to participate in activities. Please do not bring children who are too young to help, there is a lot going on and this can become unsafe - if you have questions about this please ask. When registering youth volunteers, please sign up for "All ages" slots and include the ages of all youth who will be participating.

Parking/Biking:There is plenty of on-street parking available around the center (please leave our lot free for program participants). We are also on a bike path and have bike parking available (please lock your bike).
Where to meet: When you arrive for your shift please go to the gym, which is the large unattached building behind the playground/parking lot. There will be a table set up on the far side with staff members to check you in.
Volunteer Release: If you have not volunteered with GCC this year, please bring a completed copy of the volunteer release with you. (download from this sign-up genius page). We will have blank copies if you have any trouble accessing the document through this site. Releases for youth must be signed by a parent or guardian.
