Are you interested in giving back to the community in a major way? We are seeking volunteers to join our Engagement Committee!

This committee supports the RTTF development team by providing ideas and support for a variety of events, fundraisers, and promotional opportunities. Committee members provide insight into additional funding sources - like government, corporate, and other nontraditional funding ideas - as well as identifying sources of promotion and exposure for RTTF in print, radio, TV, online, and by connecting with other partners and organizations. This committee meets every other month.

Mission Statement

Rock to the Future is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2010 that provides music education for Philadelphia youth from underserved communities at no cost to them or their families. Using music, our programs ignite passion and creativity, support academic achievement, and improve self-esteem. We empower individuals and strengthen communities.

Description

Rock to the Future provides free music programs in school, after school, and over the summer for Philadelphia youth from underserved neighborhoods. As Rock to the Future students collaborate, create, and perform, they learn life skills, gain confidence, learn motivation, and feel pride. Through music, our students are empowered, and learn self- and social-awareness and to respect and appreciate peers and adults from diverse backgrounds.

We create an environment where kids of all ages and abilities feel confident, safe, and respected enough to perform on stage. No matter what instrument or style of music they choose, we create the support structure that allows our students to learn at their own pace and in their own way. The confidence needed to be a musician, bandmate, songwriter, and performer transfers to all stages of life.
