The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company is looking for two experienced and creative instructors to serve as the inaugural coaches for our Girls' Baby Majorette Dance Team (BabySoul). We anticipate holding auditions for the team in December or January and will include girls in grades K to 5. The team will practice for three Saturdays each month from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
The SoulDeevas are being trained to represent the Northeast in a variety of genres, emphasizing scholarship, sisterhood and soul. The team will run from January until July and will then reconvene in September. The goal is to attract about 15 girls. The coaches can feel free to start immediately and watch the senior majorettes as they practice (also Saturdays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm).
The majorette team coaches should be prepared to develop routines for competitions/performance opportunities and should expect that the girls who will register will be beginners. We are looking for individuals who will be able to hold down a classroom and quickly establish a routine for their team. Their first event will be a parade in May. After six months, our goal is to offer our interns a stipend of $15-$20 per hour for their work.

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.
Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
