WHEAT Community Cupboard and Cafe is holding our 2nd Annual Reindeer Run on Saturday, December 1 at 10:00 am and we need help making phone calls asking for donations for our raffle and goodie bags. If you don't mind working the phones and asking for stuff we NEED YOU! All funds raised will support the WHEAT Food Pantry and Hot Meals program!

At the WHEAT Community Cupboard and Cafe, we offer individuals, families, seniors, veterans and people from all walks of life, one weeks worth of groceries each month to supplement their food budgets. We also offer a hot evening meal for anyone in need, served restaurant style, Monday through Friday, all at our location High street in Clinton MA.

We also connect our guests with additional services like fuel assistance, our Hope for the Holiday toy program, free family cooking classes, and Thanksgiving groceries including a turkey and all the fixings, so clients can cook a holiday meal and spend time with their families at home, not at a soup kitchen.

We'd love to have your help at our office in Framingham or Clinton, at least for the first week or two, but once your're comfortable you can make calls from home. You will need to know how to uses Excel to update our spreadsheet, and email to communicate on a regular basis.

If you have 5 or 10 hours a week to make some calls please let me know.

Thank you for your time and we hope to hear from you soon.

Mission Statement

Our Mission at The United Way of Tri-County is to increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another.

Description

Our Vision

United Way envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability and healthy lives.

Our Mission

United Way improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good.

Our Goals

In 2008, United Way initiated a 10-year program designed to achieve the following goals by 2018:

Improve education, and cut the number of high school dropouts " 1.2 million students, every year " in half.

Help people achieve financial stability, and get 1.9 million working families " half the number of lower-income families who are financially unstable " on the road to economic independence.

Promote healthy lives, and increase by one-third the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors.

Our goals are ambitious, but with your help, and by utilizing our core strengths " a national network, committed partners and public engagement capacity " we can achieve them.
