Mondays to Friday during the day. Accompany Residents to their Dr. appointments. You will come to the Rose Blumkin Home and ride along with our driver and the Resident to their appointment, and return to the home after the appointment. You will just be a companion so the Resident is not alone during this time. You will not move the Resident in or out of the wheelchair, all lifting will be done by either the Rose Blumkin Home trained staff or the Dr. office staff. You may be asked to push the wheelchair in and out of the Dr.'s office as needed. The Volunteer will be with the Resident to provide companionship so the Resident is not alone during the time of the Dr. appointment. You will be provided with wheelchair training during the orientation, and will be notified by the Volunteer Coordinator of the dates and times of the appointments.

Shalom. Welcome. The Rose Blumkin Jewish Home has been regarded as a premier long-term facility in Omaha for decades. We were just awarded the rare and coveted Five Star Rating from both the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and Medicare.gov. These ratings, which are well above the Sate and National average, are truly a testament to the quality of care we provide to our Residents. We continually strive to meet the high expectation of our clients by providing exceptional services and programs. We take tremendous pride in our well-trained, experienced Care Teams and professional staff. Our reputation for quality is built on the strength of our nursing department. While we welcome Residents of diverse backgrounds and faiths, the Blumkin Home is a uniquely Jewish setting. Emphasis is placed on Jewish community. The Home follows Kosher dietary standards, certified by the Va'ad HaKashrut of Omaha. All meals are prepared and served in accordance with Jewish dietary laws. Daily activities and special events keep Residents mentally and physically stimulated. Whether you're at the Home for a short or long stay, rest assured there will be plenty to keep you busy.
We'll work with your schedule.
