Background: New England Yachad/ The National Jewish Council for Disabilities (NJCD) has an exciting opportunity for an independent and enthusiastic individual who is thoughtful and highly organized as a marketing intern in our Brookline office for the upcoming fall semester (2018). New England Yachad/ NJCD is a growing regional branch of a well-respected national non-profit serving individuals with disabilities and their families. Our goal is to provide social and recreational programs to children, youth, and adults with special needs while promoting their inclusion in the Jewish community. Job Summary: We are looking for school-year marketing interns in both the fall and spring semesters. This is an unpaid internship, however college course credit is available. This part-time position will consist of working in the Brookline office in supporting office staff, taking on projects such as possible grant work, assisting with social media, helping with blogs and articles, and assisting with publicity efforts such as email marketing campaigns. The individual will preferably have experience in the Jewish community, and/ or working with individuals with disabilities. The individual should be passionate about and embrace the mission of Yachad. The ideal candidate for this internship will have a keen attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a skillful and timely fashion, and a deep commitment to the philosophy of inclusion and experience with disability issues. The individual should also be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. The individual is expected to maintain confidentiality and exhibit discretion and professionalism in all activities. This is a part-time position with flexible hours. Hours will sometimes include evenings and sundays. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must be a current college student in the Boston area in good standing, preferably studying communications or having experience in marketing. Candidates must be enthusiastic, and have interest and respect towards working with those with disabilities. In addition, experience with graphic design, Microsoft Office, and social media is preferred. Application Instructions: Please submit a cover letter and resume to: NewEnglandYachad@ou.org. Description
We are the local New England region of National Yachad. We run over 300 programs and events for participants of all ages and abilities. We model our programming on inclusive modeling with both participants and peers of all ages at every event. We are a small office running on big ideas and enthusiasm! We could use volunteers in all area including computer assistance, marketing help, social media, desktop publishing & newsletter, office support, attending events as peers, 1:1 friendship with adults with developmental disabilities or giving a workshop in your field of expertise.
