Volunteer Position
ReStore Opening and Closing Assistant
OBJECTIVES: The primary responsibility of the ReStore Opening and Closing volunteer is to work with staff to open the ReStore in the mornings or close the ReStore in the afternoon. Opening and closing the store requires pushing carts in and out of aisles and setting up displays. This volunteer will also help with arranging large donations and unloading and loading vehicles.
We also take large group volunteers as well! Please contact us if you would like to get your group involved in community service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the staff in either opening or closing the ReStore
- Unload donations as they arrive
- Load purchases for customers
- Help to arrange inventory in the ReStore
REPORTS TO: ReStore Manager, Ruairi Bateson
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Friendly and helpful attitude
- Ability to lift more than 50lbs
- Ability to work on your feet in a warehouse environment

VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE
- ReStore Opening
- 11:00am - 1:00pm each week on one of the following days; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday.
- ReStore Closing
- 3:30pm- 5:30pm each week on one of the following days; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
TRAINING PROVIDED
- On-site training is provided and consists of an orientation with the Volunteer Coordinator, review of the Volunteer Manual, safety training and hands-on training by ReStore Manager. On-going supervision and training will be provided as needed.

Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County is a nonprofit committed to building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
- To date we have completed 3 housing developments, housing over 80 individuals, half of which are children.
- Over 42 homes have been repaired for low income homeowners in our community.
- The ReStore is social enterprise business that sells donated building material, appliances, and furniture. The profits of the ReStore help Habitat to build more homes.
