ORGANIZATION: Montalvo Arts Center - Lucas Artists Programs

10-15 hours/week, Unpaid position

Intern will work from the Lucas Artists Program offices in the stunning 176-acre Montalvo Arts Center park in Saratoga, California.

Parameters of INTERN POSITION

The Lucas Artists Program (LAP) at Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, California, seeks a Digital Media Archive Intern to help source, organize, and build a digital media archive (photographs, video, press coverage, collateral, and other material) from the last decade of artistic activity here at Montalvo Arts Center.

A successful applicant with an interest in the arts, archiving, and photography, through working closely with our curatorial department, will aid in the production of a retrospective catalogue of the Lucas Artists Program. Experience gained through this internship will be widely applicable to the arts, museum, and non-profit fields.

REQUIREMENTS:

We require a minimum 3-6 month commitment for this position, and at least 10-15 hours per week. This is an unpaid volunteer position. The position requires interest in and knowledge of archival methods, technical fluency of Microsoft Windows OS, problem solving and research skills to address standard and non-standard work problems. (Adobe Lightroom skills not necessary, but a plus.) We use Adobe Lightroom for our archiving and organization of Montalvo documentation and will provide training. This is an opportunity to work with the curatorial team at an internationally-recognized artist residency program. We hope to find a talented individual who will work with our dedicated team as we support over 100 artists a year from all over the world.
