ORGANIZATION: Support The Enlisted Project (STEP)

Support the Enlisted Project (STEP) assists junior active duty enlisted members and recently discharged enlisted Veterans and their families in Southern California facing financial crisis achieve long-term financial self-sufficiency through counseling, education and grants to alleviate critical near term obligations.

Donations of furniture and critical basic items allow STEP to maintain a warehouse in which military families can access at no cost to them during unexpected financial hardships.

STEP is in dire need of wonderful volunteers with flexible schedules to pick up donations across San Diego County using the organization's minivan, cargo van, and/or small box truck. E-mails will be sent on a weekly basis to a group of on-call drivers offering opportunities throughout the week to assist with donation pick-ups. We average about 1-3 pickups per week. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A copy of a valid drivers license is required, as well as a good standing driving record.

Attire: Long, comfortable pants, t-shirt or similar loose, comfortable shirt, and close-toed athletic shoes

Volunteers are implemented in every part of the nonprofit, and is vital to reach our mission of supporting these military families. We need consistent help with sorting donated items, as well as administrative and holiday program support.
