The volunteers always love to come to the adoption events and do the "fun work". What most don't realize is the work that takes place before the event every Saturday. Sometimes, they need baths! Sometimes the kennels are dirty! Everyone has to be loaded for transport, etc. It is a busy morning getting ready. It does not necessarily need to be done on Saturdays. We need help every day with Pet Care!

Castaways Pet Rescue (CPR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, animal welfare organization dedicated to community spay/neuter assistance, to community education on responsible pet care, and to facilitating adoptions of the stray and abandoned animal population.
Description
Our, small grassroots, 100% no-kill rescue is located in an impoverished community on the coast in Southeast Georgia. This area has a tremendous need for animal welfare education in our local schools as well as spay/neuter assistance. It is not uncommon to see dogs chained to trees with no water or food, nevermind shelter. Castaways mainly receives animals from local county-funded, open-admission shelters that consistently need space to prevent euthanisia. We are donor funded and struggle daily to make ends meet. All of our work is done by volunteers and no-one gets paid.
