It may be the best couple hours you spend a week. For the end-of-life patients of Great LakesCaring and Hospice, it is a treasured time of talk, tears, understanding, laughter and a caring, conversant companion to look forward to being with.

This opportunity is a relationship building experience. It is sure to enhance your life and you will look at things and life in a different way as a result of being a part of it.

Great Lakes Caring staff is dedicated to providing the best end- of -life experience possible for our patients and their families. To do that we understand the importance that having someone who will support, listen and care for them does.

Time is our most precious gift. Share your gift with a Hospice patient.

Time is limited, yet of eternal value. What makes it so is how you use it and to whom you give it. Share your gift of time with a patient on their end-of-life journey. No special skills are necessary, just a listening ear and an open heart. It will be some of the most rewarding time you’ll ever spend.

Elara Caring Hospice is currently looking for Volunteers: Companion Volunteers, Pet Therapy, Veteran Volunteers, Office Volunteers, and Crafting Volunteers. We have patients in need in outlying areas as well as the Grand Rapids Area. These areas include Grand Rapids, Big Rapids, Wayland/ Hastings, Greenville, Rockford, Holland, and Saugatuck/Douglas.
