OSD is a global, chapter-based, Veteran Service Organization providing relevant, relatable, and sustainable impact to the military community through social, professional, and service-oriented programs.

An OSD chapter provides a foundation in a local community through one or more of OSD’s 3 Pillars: Social Connection, Professional Development, and Servant Leadership. Chapters are made up of groups of active duty members, veterans, family members and civilian supporters devoted to giving back at the community level. Chapter are semi-autonomous all working independently, as well as in conjunction with each other in support of the worldwide OSD mission of supporting veterans. Chapters are self-reliant and come up with interesting and beneficial events that engage their chapter members, local veterans, local civilian supporters, and their local community as a whole. Chapters work closely with local businesses, organizations, and companies to help ensure continued growth and sustainability of OSD. Chapters also create active and engaged communities online through social media. Each Chapter is different, made up and directed by individuals, but supported by the resources and leadership of the OSD national office. This ensures that each chapter aligns with 'The OSD Way.’ An OSD chapter is driven to gather and make an impact with events either by veterans, for veterans, or with veterans.

The OSD Game Night Activity Leader works closely with the Chapter Leader and other local Chapter Members to plan and execute game nights for the chapter. These events fall under OSD’s Social Connection Pillar. The Game Night Activity Leader strives to plan events which appeal to a diverse audience and are accessible to a variety of skill sets. Games nights provide OSD Chapters the opportunity to bring families together. From board games to cards - the Game Night Activity Leader works closely with local organizations who might want to lead events or offer facilities for a free or discounted rate. The Game Night Activity Leader helps inspire participation of team members by getting them excited about upcoming opportunities. The overall goal of each event is to provide veterans, service members and their families, and civilian supporters a way to branch out and meet new people all while connecting with the vision and mission of OSD.

If you have a passion for games of any kind, this role is for you! An ideal Game Night Activity Leader will excel at planning events. They do not need to be an expert in all types of games, but rather have the ability to network and seek out the support of others who want to get involved by hosting or leading an event. Additionally, if you have a passion for a certain type of game and want to be OSD’s lead in that area, this role is for you.

Most importantly our Game Night Activity Leader will uphold the OSD values including:
