The Promenade Area Residents Association (PARA) is expanding and we need your help!

If you live in the Downtown Long Beach area and want to get more involved with your community, your neighbors, and your city, we would love to hear from you! There are so many ways you can serve in the downtown area to make this area a place we can all be proud of.

In the past few years, we raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to build a new playground in the Promenade Square Park, the only playground in all of downtown. We also hosted multiple social gatherings for residents and businesses, advocated for our residents regarding traffic, parking, and other quality of life issues, and supported other development in the Downtown area. We hope to continue advocating for our residents to ensure our quality of life and standards remain high, continue to improve the playground by adding shade structures and benches and work for the best interest of our stakeholders.

The PARA Board of Director members must live in the PARA zone (Pacific Avenue to Long Beach Blvd and Ocean Blvd to 3rd Street), however, you can live anywhere within the city and serve on one of our committees.

PARA hosts multiple signature events every year, including our annual Poker Night fundraiser, Trick or Treat on the Promenade, Movie Nights, Welcome to the Neighborhood events, and much more. In the next several years, we hope to expand our signature events, as well as add one or two other major ones as well. We are looking for people to serve on one of three committees:

• Marketing/Communications
• Special Events
• Board Development

Your contributions will be hugely valuable, as we are a small but mighty organization.
