Technical Writers
Objective: To assist CIL with capacity building, by creating position manuals for the policies and procedures of each CIL programs staff position.
Supervisor: Volunteer Coordinator
Location: CIL Winter Park Office, 720 N. Denning Drive, Winter Park, FL 32789.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate job procedures on efficiency and present information to program director.
- Write manuals based on the day to day policies and procedures of each programs staff position.
- Meet benchmarks assigned by the Programs Director.
- Adhere to assigned deadlines.
- Meet with Programs Director on a weekly basis.
- Meet with Volunteer Coordinator on a weekly basis.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Must be a self-starter and take the initiative.
- Must be comfortable working independently.
- Proficiency in office support technology, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Technical writing experience a plus. Desire to write comprehensively and coherently about the inner workings of nonprofits a plus.
Time Commitment: Varied depending on pace of volunteer. 5-15 hours a week during CIL working hours evaluating staff policies and procedures, and writing position manuals, either in office or at home.
