Mentor male refugee teenager from El Salvador
ORGANIZATION: Bethany Christian Services
Please visit the new page to apply.
We are seeking a male individual, couple, or family (preferably Spanish speaking) to mentor this 16-year-old youth. He enjoys playing soccer, going to the library and talking to everyone. He has a lot of energy and does not like being bored. He has been adapting well the program and has been forming positive relationships with his peers and staff. Because of the youth's high energy level, we have seen some negative behaviors come out, yet staff have been able to help him control his energy by providing him with activities and keeping him busy.
Background: The youth experienced past trauma in home country and on his journey to the United States. The youth has been in care since May of 2018 and is receiving intense therapy sessions/skills to help him recover and move forward from past trauma.
