We are in need of a team of people who are able to help transport dogs to our adoption events! This allows us to bring more dogs; in turn, we're able to find more homes for more rescues! Anyone who helps us transport is eligible to get a reimbursement for your gas money!
We will supply you with ample numbers of crates for the dogs, and we can provide blankets / towels to line your car with. You do not have to have a big car to help us! Arrival times for each of these events is likely going to be early morning, so you could always make a day out of this drive and get gas reimbursed at the same time!

October 10th - Patton, CA
Dogs need transport from Rowland Heights, CA to Patton, CA. Time TBA! Please contact us if you might be able to help. You do NOT have to stay at the event!
October 13th - La Canada, CA
Dogs will need transport from Rowland Heights, CA to La Canada, CA. You do NOT have to stay at the event, and you don't need to help us transport the dogs back.
October 14th - Santa Monica, CA
Dogs will need transport from Rowland Heights, CA to Santa Monica in the morning (prior to 9:30 AM - exact time TBA). You do NOT have to stay at the event if you're transporting, but any help at the event is appreciated!

Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. VIDA does not belong to any one person but instead to all of its volunteers. We adopt out about 50-60 cats and dogs per month - we rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, low income neighborhoods, and from the streets of Mexico. Description
Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a non-profit organization working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.
We have found forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, with around 4-5 new adoptions taking place each week. Many of our dogs come from local high-kill shelters before they are euthanized and on the streets of both the US and Mexico. We also have spay/neuter operations in low-income neighborhoods in the US and in Mexico and have spayed/neutered thousands of pets.
