Creepy Critter Encounters is a Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge annual Fall event. Our Visitor Center will be as full as a trick-or-treat bag with spooky animals, a storyteller, insects, and crafts. The trail surrounding the center becomes a meet-the-refuge-creatures hike.
Event at a Glance:
When- Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 3:00pm-6:00pm (volunteers are needed from 1:30-6:30pm)
Where- Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge visitor center
Creepy Critter Encounters' has multiple positions for volunteers including: set-up & clean-up, welcome table, activity station host, craft table attendant, photographer or mascot
Volunteers are welcome to wear a costume!

Description
Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, founded by President Theodore Roosevelt on February 25, 1909, is one of the oldest refuges in the National Wildlife Refuge System (NWRS).
Managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the System preserves a network of lands and waters set aside for the conservation and management of the nation's fish, wildlife, and plant resources for the benefit of present and future generations.
