Volunteer Position

Soulciety is looking for Volunteers that can make phone calls to local companies who may be interested in supporting our organization and can help to build our network of support. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has great phone communication skills, has excellent online research capabilities, and is amazing with completing tasks while working independently.

Requirements

• High School Graduate working towards a degree and/or equivalent work experience
• Strong independent initiative, capacity to operate flexibly in a fast-paced environment
• Great at working individually, but also works great with a team
• Advanced communication and organizational skills
• Experience with making professional phone calls
• Excellent at transcribing important details from phone calls, emails and other forms of communication
• Advance computer skills, specifically Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and navigating the Internet
• Ability to problem-solve and adjust tactics to achieve positive outcomes with possible donors/supporters

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working in the nonprofit sector
• Experience in fundraising
• Positive, energetic demeanor with a drive to improve processes

Responsibilities

• Participate in a training on October 2 between 3-5pm at our office in downtown Hayward to learn about Soulciety and corporate sponsorships
• Research local companies that may be interested in supporting our organization
• Contact companies who may be interested in supporting Soulciety and schedule a meeting with our organization’s leadership team.
• Document all calls, specifically any hot leads and any other possible leads
• Report any issues, complications, obstacles, etc.
• Attend weekly meetings in-person in Hayward and/or via Google Hangout

Compensation

This position is strictly volunteer-based, but this is great opportunity to learn about the nonprofit world, contributing to your community, and developing the fundraising skills for your own future ventures.

Soulciety provides employment and educational opportunities that include s job skills development, job placement, vocational trainings, case management, and comprehensive support services. Soulciety provides young people with meaningful job experiences and trainings with the goal of developing the skills needed for them to become self-sufficient and successful in their future careers.
