Veterans Moving Forward is a nonprofit organization based in Sterling, Virginia, dedicated to the raising, training, and placement of service dogs with eligible disabled veterans. We are looking for a Graphic Design Volunteer to conceptualize ideas and create clever, on-brand, visually captivating content in support of marketing campaigns.

Competencies:

-Team player who is able to work cross-functionally and remotely in an environment that can be fast-paced

-Interest in telling compelling stories through design, expertise with digital platforms and web-based content

-Excellent aesthetic sensibility for color, typography, and other design components

-Highly proficient with graphic design programs including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat

-Able to take direction from Marketing & Communications Director and collaborate to design an email or social media campaign flyer from concept to launch

-Make intelligent recommendations for design in planning discussions

-Develop graphics independently to support external marketing initiatives, including cross-promotions, experience working with multimedia a plus

-Budget time to meet established deadlines for all deliverables

-Provide updates at every stage of the process

-Ensure brand consistency across products

-Resize assets as needed to suit the specific platform, experience with designing content for various mobile platforms would be helpful

-Consult with Marketing Director on design layouts, implement any changes, finalize products for hand-off and launch

-Create design templates and manage/organize graphic design assets in an inventory on SharePoint

-Prior experience with SharePoint and email campaign platforms a plus

-Strong following across personal social media platforms a plus

Preferred:

-2+ years agency experience or can provide a link to an online portfolio of work

-Connected to the mission and vision of Veterans Moving Forward
