MADI Donations is the local 501c3 subsidiary of MADI Apparel. We have a big all-ages fundraising event coming up - Runway to Impact -on October 11th, which is a party, fashion show and silent auction and need volunteers to help us run the event.
Fundraising for: MADI Donations' non-profit program MADI Makes -- a job training program for at-risk women to learn to cut/sew MADI Apparel garments in Kansas City.
Where: The Gallery Event Space in Power and Light, sponsored by Kansas City Power and Light District
INCENTIVES for volunteers:
-Gain free entrance to the event (GA tickets are $50)
-See an amazing fashion show showcasing local talent
-Help raise money to support local at-risk women
-Enjoy complimentary appetizers
What to expect as volunteer:
-Work a 3 hour shift (either 4pm-7pm or 7-10pm) helping with the silent auction, merch booth check-out, guest check-in, donation thermometer, set-up, tear-down, etc and enjoy the other 2 hours of the event. (event is 6-930pm)
-no back-breaking labor, don't worry :)

Mission Statement
In collaboration with Hope Faith Ministries (Kansas City's largest homeless day center), MADI Makes has created a pilot jobs-training program for at-risk women. Participants in the program will be trained to sew high-end underwear to donate to domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters, and rape crisis centers. Graduates of the program will be more likely to find quality employment in the sewing industry.

MADI Apparel (Making a Difference Intimate Apparel) is a Kansas City, female-owned business that donates a pair of underwear to women in homeless/battered women’s shelters for every intimate item sold. MADI has donated over 4,500 pairs of underwear, which is the most needed, under-donated item of clothing at these shelters. More information here: https://www.madiapparel.com/
