We are seeking a skilled volunteer to work intensively for 4 weeks to create a comprehensive assembly instruction manual for our organization's namesake shelter product.
An ideal volunteer will:
- Have a strong graphic design background, particularly in print
- Have experience showcasing a physical product in a technical or catalog-style layout
- Have solid skills in CAD; Rhino would be great
- Be able to translate and integrate preliminary storyboards and written materials into visually appealing and easy-to-understand, step-by-step instructions
- Be very fluent in producing user-friendly final deliverable containing mix of media assets -- diagrams; images; videos (for digital version)
- Preferably have some exposure / experience to light technical writing or related copy editing
- Work well independently, with great client communication skills and project-oriented mindset

Our centerpiece product provides temporary, portable shelter to homeless and/or disaster-stricken populations, allowing us to support the work of established partner organizations that offer transitional pathways into permanent housing and other human services. We also create temporary, local US jobs in the production of these shelters in an effort to help support the livelihoods of others in transition or rehabilitation.
