ORGANIZATION: RECORDED RECREATIONAL READING FOR THE BLIND

Since we are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, we are always seeking donations to help underwrite everything that we do. By stating that fact, we are emphasizing the importance of this particular job. In today's world and especially here in the United States, there are many sources of donation-money seeking causes to support. This job would encompass all of that...which means promoting our existence, purposes and history (now, over 40 years) to potential donors whether they be corporate, governmental, organized groups or individuals. Experience background could vary but would necessarily require a life of experience in the financial world. This position would function under the direction of operating corporate officers, primarily the President and Treasurer. Success with this job makes all the other jobs and services that we provide, possible.

Description

RRRB, Inc has a long history of dedicated people that have built and continue to maintain its services. For more than 40 years, we have been evolving with the times and technologies. Subscribership, recorded materials and the volunteer base also continue to grow. 1971: A small group of volunteers begin tape recording local news for visually or physically challenged Sun City, Arizona residents. 1980: New studios completed on Lions Club property by the Del Webb Corporation and cassette recording operations are transferred from the Sun City Professional Building. 2006: Driven by new volunteers in a new technological era, the studios begin a gradual changeover to digital recording. 2010: All operations are digital and recording is fullly coordinated with the standards of NLS and the Library of Congress. 2012: Two additional recording booths are added make a total of three fully operational. 2016: Weekly news becomes a weekly news magazine now known as "The West Valley Talking News" and, late in the year, KRUVradiosun begins operations online as the dedicated "Voice of Valley Volunteers." The radio station features an eclectic musical playlist along with excerpted material from "The West Valley Talking News." It also features programs that tell the story of any and all (if possible) of the Maricopa "Valley of the Sun" volunteer-based agencies and services. 2018: Organizational growth continues with new volunteer job opportunities designed to support and enhance the services and purposes of RRRB, Inc.
