Street Team for 10/21 Chamber Music Concert

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Hi there! We are looking for a group of people who live or work in NW DC to distribute postcards, posters, and flyers to businesses that post local event information (coffee shops, some restaurants, etc.).

Specifically, we've got materials to post for our concert coming up on 10/21 -- our Mozart + Kókai chamber music for strings and clarinet concert, opening the Parlor Series at St. John's Church, Lafayette Square. So we want to get these posted around downtown DC by early October.

We'll get you the print materials. Let us know which block/s you can hit. Take a lunch hour sometime and check in with those businesses, leaving or posting materials in the places that allow it. And then we'll ask you to send us an email with the addresses of shops that do or don't allow postings.

Street team members get a free comp ticket to whichever of our concerts they would like, along with invitations to occasional volunteer events. (Note that the Oct. 21 concert is free and ticketless, because it's part of the St. John's Church, Lafayette Square series; so, for your comp, you can pick between our 11/18 and 4/7 ticketed concerts. Check out ANCOselfconducted.org for more about our season dates.)

And we do mean THANK YOU! ANCO wouldn't exist without the passion of our musicians and volunteers. It's because of you that we can continue to produce some of DC's finest classical music.

The Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra (ANCO) is an innovative 30-member ensemble that performs as a full orchestra with no conductor using chamber music techniques. This means the musicians take over the role of the conductor while they play, trading and sharing leadership within each performance. The result is an invigorating and creative approach to making music, an inspiring model for collaboration, and-most of all-a thrilling concert experience for audiences.

ANCO members bring experience from a variety of distinguished ensembles around DC and the nation; all are united by their commitments to chamber music and artistic collaboration. ANCO is honored to perform regularly as orchestra-in-residence for St. John’s Church Lafayette Square, and for audiences around DC.
