Seeking volunteers to work with senior adults that need an extra touch. Helping with facility activities. Being able to read books or the Bible to those who might be able to read any longer. Watching a movie or sharing photographs. Being there for someone that is alone and wants some company. Possibly running errands for patient or caregivers, tuck in calls (to be explained).

Patient care volunteers spend their time with hospice patients, some travel to the places where the patient currently resides. Volunteers do not provide any medical or hands on care. Music therapy, singing hymns, playing music, Pet therapy, Massage therapy (must be certified), hair dressing, salon parties, painting fingernails.

Provide dignified family centered care and end of life comfort for our patients with an individual touch. We advocate on behalf of our patients to ensure their comfort and final wishes are being granted. We strive to connect with all of our patients and provide personalized physical, mental and spiritual care.

Description

Providing care and comfort to patients. Opportunities include direct patient visitation and administrative support. We provide feedback to schools for volunteer credit. We provide internships for those in nursing and social work. Travel will be limited, with the exception of internships, which may be only to visit different sites. Our goal is to provide companionship as well as socialization to those who express desire to have a volunteer visit. Our scope of activities may be limitless, we help with light housekeeping, running errands, helping with activities, quiet time to reflect and hear life experiences.
