Arts of Life advances the creative arts community by providing artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities a collective space to expand their practice and strengthen their leadership. We are currently seeking an Education Intern. The Education Intern will collaborate with full time staff to assist artists in our Educator Track program. This unpaid internship position is vital to our community and is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant, creative group of adult artists.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet with artists in the Educator track on a weekly basis
- Collaborate with artists in the creation, implementation, and presentation of visual demos and workshops
- Create and introduce engaging tools geared toward helping educator track artists improve their communication and listening skills
- Lead the group in evaluating and identifying strengths and weaknesses in artists' facilitation skills
- Assist with planning and problem solving as needed
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
- Solve problems and work with minimal supervision.
- Work in a spirit of mutual cooperation.
- Show initiative, dedication, and creativity.
- Have a consistently positive and resilient attitude.
- Be able to assist all individuals served by the Arts of Life studio.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Pursuing an Education degree or Education career path
- Confident and familiar with a Mac Platform
- Excellent time management and demonstrated ability to work with minimal
- supervision.
