Connections in the City: Bridging Resources to Combat San Francisco Homelessness

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: HandsOn Bay Area

San Francisco is one of the United State’s richest metropolitan cities, yet thousands sleep on the streets of this city every night. Around 7,500 people are estimated to be homeless and the city has spent $241-275 million in recent years to combat this epidemic. Those who are homeless face many social and economic barriers to find adequate housing. Without permanent housing, there is often an inability to address basic needs, including healthcare and hygiene. We see their need every day, yet many of us remain uninformed about this issue in San Francisco.

Join HandsOn Bay Area this fall for our San Francisco TeamWorks series. In this series, we will be learning about the state of homelessness in the city, the challenges that vulnerable populations face, as well as explore non-profit organizations that function as bridges to resources for those in need. We encourage you to join us to learn more and actively contribute to connecting those in the city who are often unseen.

Register by September 24th to enroll in the series!
