Gleaners Community Food Bank has partnered with Henry Ford Health System to improve the health of our community. Volunteers will ride in a van with a Gleaners staff member to assist in delivering boxes of food directly to people in their homes. Volunteers will call participants, lift and walk with up to 15 pounds, and mark if it was delivered or not.
Volunteers will be required to take a ten minute HIPPA and Safety Training, and sign a confidentiality statement, all accomplished at the start of the shift. A criminal background check is also required that is done onsite at the beginning of the volunteers first shift. Volunteers must be age 18 or older. Court-ordered community service may not be performed at this event.
Volunteer Shifts:
Mondays-Fridays with a morning shift from 8:30 am - 12 noon and Mondays - Friday with an afternoon shift from 12 noon - 3:30 pm.
