Have you lived, worked or traveled internationally?

Volunteer to speak at International Fest - November 12th thru 16th

Sign-up for 1 hour time slots each day M-F, starting 8:30am thru 2:15pm

What is International Fest?

International Fest encourages students to think globally while exposing them to new cultures and countries from around the world. Junior Achievement partners annually with Addison Trail High School for this exciting event and we have moved it to the Fall due to scheduling this year. We would love your help to share your business and personal international experiences with the students. It is a great way for students to learn about what life and business is like in other parts of the world.

Each year, Addison Trail High School also partners with an international charity. This year, ATHS will be raising money for Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends over 250,000 care packages to US military men and women each year.

How do I volunteer?

Give a presentation about your culture, personal or work travels - recounting challenges, success stories or adventures with other cultures in foreign countries. Sign up to speak about your international experience(s) during any of the available time slots 11/12 through 11/16. Consider volunteering for multiple days or multiple time slots, ATHS is a very large high school with a diverse group of students and we want to be sure that as many students can experience this exciting event as possible.

I’m interested! What are the next steps?

Please reach out to Julie Relihan jrelihan@jachicago.org or 331-702-4429 by October 1 st with your availability during 11/12-11/16 if you are interested in participating.
Or register online: International Fest - Volunteer Registration: https://goo.gl/forms/jqxzXC8rqS7bkdag2

If you are unable to participate, but know someone who would be a great fit for this opportunity, please feel free to pass this along.

Mission Statement

JA of Chicago's volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students in our community to dream big and reach their potential.

Description

Junior Achievement empowers students to succeed in the future by providing free educational programs from Kindergarten through 12th Grade. JA's innovative and experiential programs are based on work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy and align directly with educational curriculum standards. JA brings volunteers from the business and community into the classroom to bring these relevant and fun economics of life lessons to the students. It is that link to the "real world" in the classroom that brings volunteers, students and educators together for success! In DuPage County this year, we are on target to empower over 4,000 classes and more than 85,000 students. We've been able to continually expand our program every year thanks largely in part to our loyal JA partners and volunteers.
