Do you have a legal or law enforcement background? You can help reduce the victimization of senior citizens who are often targeted for specific crimes or scams based on their age.

As an RSVP volunteer with the Seniors vs. Crime Project of the Polk County Sheriff's Department you can make a difference by investigating complaints and acting as a consumer advocate. Seniors vs. Crime is a project of the State Attorney General's Office and is highly successful in assisting victims.

Description

Leading Through Experience! You've gained a lifetime of experience. Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through RSVP. RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through non-profit, faith-based, and governmental agencies to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of volunteers with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental accident insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
