Compass to Care's biggest event of the year is coming up quickly and we need volunteers to help make it a huge success. We need you!!

Event Location: Ignite Glass Studios, 401 N Armour, Chicago (street parking is available)

Join us to be part of this special night. Volunteers will help with any of the following tasks for our fashion show:

  • Venue setup
  • Guest check in and registration
  • Coat check
  • Directing guests to VIP area and seats
  • Raffle ticket sales
  • Silent auction assistance
  • Guest check out
  • Clean up
We also need 2-3 photographers willing to volunteer their time and skills to document our event.

We have 2 shifts available:

  • Event setup from 3pm-6pm
  • Event onsite assistance: 5pm-11:30pm

Mission Statement

Compass to Care ensures children, whose parents have a financial, can access life-saving cancer treatment. We carry out this mission by scheduling and paying for cancer-related travel necessities so children can get from their homes to the best medical center for treatment. This includes airfare, bus fare, car rental, gasoline, lodging, parking fees, taxi fees, tolls and train fare.

Description

Having a child with cancer is hard.

Not being able to get to the hospital for treatment is heart-breaking. That's where we step in.

With a focus solely on helping with cancer-related travel needs, Compass to Care's aim is to help families whose children must travel for cancer treatment by:

  • Eliminating some of the monetary burdens resulting from medically-necessary travel costs;
  • Removing the physical and emotional stress that comes with planning a trip and traveling with a child who is ill;
  • Providing peace of mind by removing travel costs so they can focus their energy on their child; and
  • Giving hope that by getting to the right hospital they may save their child’s life from this devastating disease.
