Volunteers are needed to support the Turkey Trot 5k. Volunteers will assist at the Registration Tent, packet pickup, water stations, course marshals and the refreshment tent. The Turkey Trot benefits Young Survival Coalition, a national nonprofit that supports, educates and empowers young women with breast cancer.
Volunteers will need to be able to stand or walk for duration of shift, there may be breaks and opportunity to sit. This is a perfect opportunity for groups of students or families. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult, groups of students that include teens 15-17 must have one adult supervisor with them.
Parking is very limited on Roosevelt Island, public transportation is recommended. Take the F train or Tram to Roosevelt Island.

Description
YSC works to ensure that no young women faces breast cancer alone. YSC is a powerful community fighting breast cancer in young women working to:
- raise awareness that young women can and do get breast cancer
- decrease sense of isolation felt by young women affected by breast cancer
- build a diverse network of survivors, supporters & medical community members
- ensure young women have the tools needed to navigate their breast cancer experience
