DMCC’s Volunteer Driver program connects senior and disabled members of the Del Mar community with free personalized transportation to medical and essential appointments. Volunteers sign themselves up for a driving appointment when they can accommodate it in their own schedule. Volunteers love this assignment because it is flexible and ongoing, and they develop interpersonal relationships with Del Mar seniors.
Appointments generally take place Monday through Friday, 8:30AM - 4:30PM. Volunteers utilize their personal vehicles; mileage reimbursement is available.
Volunteers must pass a Livescan background check and have a clean driving record.

Incorporated in 2000, DMCC has served the seniors of Del Mar for 18 years. DMCC is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of dedicated and local volunteers. With their guidance and our 2 full-time employees, DMCC is able to achieve our mission of o ffering numerous social, cultural, health, and educational activities. DMCC also provides alternative transportation options to help our community thrive.
