YMCA Youth Basketball is for boys and girls ages 6-14. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the sport in addition to learning how to play the game in a competitive manner. The program is designed to develop each participant’s skill set in the following areas: passing, shooting, dribbling, and defense.

Volunteer Role: Seeking energetic, hardworking individuals interested in volunteering with youth and motivated to make a difference! Individuals who are comfortable guiding and training youth in basketball while providing an enjoyable and safe experience. Volunteer Coaches will assist youth in learning individual and team game skills, sportsmanship and fair play

*Coaches will be supported by paid staff*

The number of Volunteers Needed:
6

Volunteer Requirements: Must be at least 18 years and up

Time Commitment: October 2nd - December 6th (no practices or games the week of Thanksgiving). Games will start on October 13th and end on December 8th. Two hours a week for 10 weeks (one hour for practice and one hour for the game). The first two weeks are just practices and no games. 10 practices (hour long) and 8 games (hour long). Practices take place on either Tuesday or Thursday for one hour between 5pm-8pm. Games take place on Saturday for one hour between the hours of 9 am - 3 pm.
